Few places in the world have such a variety of birdlife as in Madagascar. Madagascar, with its rustic appeal and rural setting is quite untouched by Western hands and nowhere is this more apparent than in the natural resources of the Ampijoroa National Park.
In Ampijoroa, it is possible to see a vast array of bird life as well as spectacular flora and fauna. The Ampijoroa National Park is a western deciduous forest, and like the rest of Madagascar, has a rural approach to game viewing. All viewing happens by foot, as many areas do not have passable roads. Spend the night camping in Ampijoroa and awaken to the sounds of birdsong. At Ampijoroa National Park, there is also a variety of lemurs as well as reptiles to view. Lake Ravelobe is central to the park and home to the spectacular Nile Crocodile. If you are lucky, you can spot this rare and beautiful creature in it’s natural habitat.
